Here we can exchange thoughts, opinions about crafts, kids stuff, knit, crochet, handmade projects, and more…
I am a Brazilian who moved to Canada on the account of my husband’s post-doctoral research. I graduated in Travel andTourism, but always have worked in different fields. At the moment I am a stay home mom, and love to work with fibers.
I think of myself as a person who likes people.
I have a pretty little daughter, intelligent and happy that completes me as a person and always makes me want to improve.
I have always been a fan of crochet an Art learned from my dear granny Beatriz when I was just 8. She was a great woman. My mother-a proud craft instructor and mother of 4, also taught me a lot, specially about knitting, embroidery, and painting.
Colors are my fascination!
I want to share with you a little of my work. Things that I make up or learn. I hope we have good moments together!
Think of the time, it’s been almost one year since I last posted! Reason being I haven’t been up to crocheting lately.
I haven’t been up to coloring either, because we finally decided to hang out here for longer so last year – in December more precisely we bit the bullet and purchased a townhouse here in Edmonton and between making this a home instead of a house, working a lot at my job, and reading lots of books, I left my other activities dorment for this while, because don’t you dare forget I’m also a mom and wife.
Never mind recently my already pre-teen beautiful daughter asked me to crochet some cushion covers for her bedroom. And I started looking for my long forgotten nonetheless beloved crochet material.
Looking up on Pinterest after so many months had passed has been fun. Here I came across a beautiful thread cushion cover on Simply Crochet magazine and it gave me the necessary boost to re start. Here is how it is coming along.
Thank you for stopping by, next time I come back I’ll show you the final result. I’m making two by the way.
I really mean it when I say I missed you and this cozy corner,
It sure has been a long time, blame it on the amount of work I’ve had since my promotion, a little over a year ago.
But recently it’s come to my attention that I have a nice little, not so little anymore, fan. My adorable daughter’s friend M. who apparently likes my blog. I haven’t written a post in so long though I couldn’t let the opportunity of saying a big hello to you.
I know you are very gentle, intelligent, creative and really talented girl, go on being this way!
Thank you for being a “fan” of my blog, and also for being such a nice friend to B.!
’till my next post, this one was dedicated to you “M”. I don’t want to write anything else so it does not take away my intention.
Be happy, heregoes a nic little flower to brighten up your days,
This has to be a small post, just to try to keep you updated, and share the fun and joyful moments of coloring this Secret Garden book, along with Lost Ocean. Trying what to me is new coloring media, being frustrated at awful result at times followed by repetitive come back to my comfort zone that is crochet I am done that crochet top, still working on a crochet lace blouse and a dress for myself. Turns out my daughter is not really interested in dressing crochet for the moment, and given the fact that she is so proud of her colored purse whenever she feels like it I can whip her something nice.
So here is my latest finalized coloring page, I used only Polychromos as I am infatuated with it. So what happened is that my daughter loved stage number 2, my husband stage 3, I was divided into doing a background from lighter to darker in the outer edges. A couple of days later fate would have it that somehow on a morning there was a blob of some dirty at the upper left top of the page, there I go trying to blend it in and having to actually work on he background. Never leave your art unattended folks. That’s it for now, till very soon!
It has been quite a while I know! I have been working hard, there is always something new to learn, I am getting old from learning, but still crafty!
Between the coloring, crochet family and work my life is been very interesting I should say. Anyway on another time I show you some of the coloring, but now I feel more like showing the crochet top I am working on.It is black as I have to wear black to work, the original is in lavender which I love though black is nice too,

So let me get going I’ll change the sleeves too ’cause i need my coverage against the AC. Hope you like it, I do!
If you follow me on Facebook you had already seen my heart, I was trying to enjoy colouring and blending with Staedler pencils form a se I bought for my daughter who is turning 10 next Wednesday.
She was 5 when we came to Canada, life goes by, in a flash.
That is exactly why I am writing here today, to thank the readers who now and again still stop by even though I haven´t been so present anymore.
Anyway, for what it is worth tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and I care about you a lot, this drawing might not the best ever but yet, here it goes, as life is perfect in its imperfections and surprising everyday:
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
Love and let yourself be loved.! 🙂
Hope you come back,
P.S.: I liked Staedler but can’t help but looove Prismacolor and Polychromos.
I love Bernat Yarn, I just do. This yarn is so soft and never let me down in any of my projects so far, not that I ‘m crocheting that much but you know what I mean. It took me a while to get used t Canadian yarns or should I say Canadian/American yarn, though after a few tryouts I became such a fan of some a them, to the point that well let’s just say a big fan of them.
So my lovely neighbour came home early 2015 to say they were pregnant with twins, I guess we were, one of, the first to know because just were coming back from the doctor.
All the year went by and whenever I thought of a gift I knew I had to make a crochet jacket for them, I don´t know it is j the way it is supposed to be, after all we were one of the firs to know.
So of course her water broke before expected, and once again of course I hadn’ t made anything yet: too much work a promotion at work, learning a new position all that got in the away. Then we went back home in the summer I could go on and on and on. I had to do it for Christmas when they would be 3 months being premature. I don’t know about you but to me half of the fun is choosing the pattern, and f course not following it and finding out ways to finish off. With all that being taken care of I made them these cute little things.

Their Mom almost passed out, and I was so glad she understood that handmade gifts have love in every piece of their way, love in every stitch.
I sure do hope you have a nice smooth full of colurs and excitement new year. We started off going downtown to make sure we saw the fireworks said a proper goodbye to 2015 and start 2016 kind of from scratch. I worked like a farm horse last year and so maybe maybe this year I will have more leasurable time to enjoy with my small beloved family.
It took me a month to come up with the colours and shading, blending overlaying in this copy I made from original book by Johanna Basford, I loved how it looks like now I have to tranfers to the book, meaning -do it all over again.
Remember the fun is is in the doing not having done.
So you do you think? Not professinal, don’t be harsh. I crocheted too though will show in another post not to be too confusing,
