There is this nice lady whose work in Education and life I admire so much. My husband works with her. She is kind and has a lovely soul, one of those people we meet once ina blue moon. She happened to like some of my pieces and had a special request.
I loved doing this nice piece of jewelry for her, and did it with all my heart:
There is a necklace for t too and the set goes like this:
I put the set up at my Etsy Shop feel free to take a peak at some other and unique versions I made in red. In case you feel like purchasing as a reader of my blog, please send a comment and you will be given a $5,00 off discount for the set as a thank you.
A few months ago as I was having a chat I came across this elf’s hat request. “Do you know those long tailed crochet hats that go along the babies bodies?” I had seen them, in Brazil they are not popular at all, but due to my passion for different things I had already seen those, and kind of gotten puzzled by the way they could be made. Well this person happens to be a neighbor, a model who is starting in the field of photography.
We kind of made a deal I would find out and have one made for her, an in exchange she would take its picture for me. I did, sadly though she has not got the chance to have a baby that would fit its size for a photo shoot section. So I came up with, well maybe you could make the picture without the baby in there.
The muffler I posted today is an item for the ladies, not that I ran out of kids caps, but just for a change.
I was counting on a bit more of warm sun in this Sunny Alberta, but the weather turned vigorously on us and dropped drastically from 27C last week down to the chilling maximum of just 10C, wait ther is more tomorrow, they are forecasting SNOW! Wow, this is early, last year it didn’t show up before November 12th! It alright, now we pretty much know what to wear, how to walk on the snow and other things.
I most certainly hope we can have as much fun as we had last year.
I am thinking this humble muffler won’t make it for Alberta’s Fall, but I like it and I it was fun to make, just hope someone is ready to “adopt it” and soon enough start wearing it. Most of all, hope you are fine and come again to meet me another time,
In general I mean. There are plenty of coconut trees along side our beaches and in many lucky people’s yards not necessarily on the coast side of the country. Despite the abundance of coconuts, seldom of us can go grab them… It’s not like you are born with the Tarzan and Jane skills.
We get the fruit (still green) at a local market, sometimes at coconut stands, where you get to pick one have it opened for you, take a seat drink its water with the help of a straw, and later on in case you want to eat the inside, you can always have them open it for you. It is nice, healthy and refreshing.
When the coconut is already brown on the outside and its “water” gains a different consistancy, but yet delicious taste, we crack it open it or by it already opened and we are able to make all sorts of food from rice, chicken, fish etc, to the most heavenly cakes, icing, candies… I love them all. Coconut candies may be white or brown, crunchy or just soft enough to be eaten with a spoon, make it a tablespoon the more the better.
Having that said, now you know how much I love it, I show you this little adorable creation, my Coconut Candy crochet cap as sweet to me as the candy can be.
I have been busy crocheting these baby caps/hats/beanies for a few moms to be in my neighborhood, as I once said they really captivate me!
There is a whole bunch of them actually; unfortunately I delivered a most of them without even saying a proper “good bye”, which means sewing the shop tag to them! I know that was a bad mistake! Anyway there is always a time for us to be forgetful.
This one became a little darling already, I made quite a few since the past August. I made it inspired by my Rose Garden Cap which was made for kids from 2-4 years of age.
Now who said a baby can’t be glamorous? That’s it, I was able to picture it hope you like!
Back to stitching now, promise I’ll be back soon with more of them,
As I mentioned earlier here it is the spiral or corkscrew crochet pattern. The way I make not the way I learned it .
You might want to try it right away.
Remember if you are not an expert in crochet or feel a little rusty at it by now you can always take a look at some intructions at Annie’s Attic or at Lion Brand site, I love to check there for novelties and nice stuff.

My days are becoming really short recently, I do have to get myself more organized in order to write, create, execute, work, be a mom, a wife and read… no wonder my days are getting so short…
I have surely created some pieces but haven’t taken pictures yet, this one here really got me into the idea that I come from a tropical country, I have an African background and therefore I would like to start making some sort of more colored or at least “earthly” colored crafts. Here is what I came up with recently. This necklace will be called Mama Africa, is more of a lariat than a proper necklace, and I still need to do the right *crochet flower for it -*read the one I like best.
Guess I got to go to work now… Hope to find you back here soon.
Although she knew I do not sell the patterns, she was honest saying she has quite a great number of grand daughters and would like to have them all dressed in a that scarf for a special occasion. I thought to myself what a neat idea! I really felt flattered!
So I gave it a try and wrote the pattern just for her, I also put in on sale at the shop, and launched a discount for it in the blog. Bear in mind this is my first pattern ever!
So if you are interested in buying either the scarf or its pattern, I will grant you a CAD 5.00 discount. Here is the deal you must write me a comment in this blog so that I know you read it here, I then will create you a coupon under your name and you can use it to buy 1(one) of them at the shop. Hope you enjoy this “game”.
