Purple Crochet Cushion Cover

Hi everyone,

Think of the time, it’s been almost one year since I last posted! Reason being I haven’t been up to crocheting  lately.

I haven’t been up to coloring either, because we finally decided to hang out here for longer so last year – in December more precisely we bit the bullet and purchased a townhouse here in Edmonton and between making this a home instead of a house, working a lot at my job, and reading lots of books, I left my other activities dorment for this while, because don’t you dare forget I’m also a mom and wife.

Never mind recently my already pre-teen beautiful daughter asked me to crochet some cushion covers for her bedroom. And I started looking for my long forgotten nonetheless beloved crochet material.

Looking up on Pinterest after so many months had passed has been fun. Here I came across a beautiful thread cushion cover on Simply Crochet magazine and it gave me the necessary boost to re start. Here is how it is coming along.

Thank you for stopping by, next time I come back I’ll show you the final result. I’m making two by the way.

I really mean it when I say I missed you and this cozy corner,

Drikka.

Bloomsbury Crochet Top II

Hello again,

I am so excited to be almost done my awesome Bloomsbury crochet top, all there is to it is the left sleeve and blocking. I don’t particularly like to block but in this case because there are so many pieces connected to one another I believe they will look much nicer once relaxed and properly stretched. Of course my daughter asked me for one, which I doubt she will actually wear, but I’ll think about it, for now take a look and let me know, I am aware of how vibrating this yarn’s colours are but for one who HAS to wear black at work I don’t mind embracing a rainbow a bit.

Crochet Bloomsbury Top

Hello you,

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, as we did, it was quiet and blessed and even though my daughter turned 9 in February the Easter bunny paid her a visit, and life goes on. Despite the challenges Spring break represents for working parents who care about kids having fun and taking a break from school.

I am still at the same job, now for 19 months where I have the opportunity to meet new people everyday and never have a dull moment, it is nice and conveniently closeso yeah, I am still there.

I squeezed in some quality time within my chores and now I am working on this nice project I found in Interweave Crochet Magazine I had for a while now, and also this yarn Unforgettable that mesmerized me by its nice Sunrise colours that I love so much. So I took some shots I don’t like how they came out for the poor lightning, but you can have some idea.

Hope to be done soon and show you more pics.

Thank you for stopping by,

Drikka.

Kids tee -pineapple crochet adventure part 2 and last

So my dear ones,

As I move on my new job, it seems to me I have little time to dedicate to my crochet blogs, though I still save some for my crochet adventures, which include a pineapple top -for myself to wear at work, and the completion of my daughter’s pineapple crochet tee.

I am triyng to figure out a way to take a picture of my top it is nice lacy and black, since I left my mannequim back home in Brazil, I have to find out how to give you an idea of how it looks, meanwhile take a look at the last and final version of the tee.

I Liked this edging for its A line kind of shaping, that I secured would be formed by adding a few more chain stitches and a sort of a V in the row prior to the last one.

I made a flower to go with it and it was a wonderful opportunity for me to make some use of this cute buttom I purchased a long time long ago.

I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it, and I followed no pattern since I changed a gazzilion times to accomodate her mood changes and mine as well.

Glaser Crafts in a Festival!

Hello my friends,

Yes, that’s it, finally the day that I had been getting ready for arrived the Oliver Community Festival!

Last Saturday we witnessed the most clement weather, one would think we are strong prayers since it rained the whole entire past week, but on Saturday I could swear it was going to rain. Instead the nicest bright vivid Sun come out.

As if saying , “Go you guys do not fret, I’ll give you this break.” So the day was a bless.

I had cold feet, won’t pretend. I got prepared with loads of handmade jewelry, it didn’t make me any good, there were 4 other jewelry stands in there. And mine was …say humble. ’till I remembered that there was a substantial difference in my products. They were all part of me, who I am and what I have become as a craftswoman. There are HANDMADE.

So I quickly wrote this on a piece of paper see? -Yeah, that’s the paper.

From that moment on I said to myself, there, there is nothing else I can do. I sat down took my hook, my yarn and the beautiful flower I was working on. This was enough to have people crossing the street to take a closer look at my hand made work, they would at least praise me, and comment with their friends.

I got flattered, so even if I did not make as many sales as I was hoping to, I got an immense sense of gratitude, in the sense that people recognized my work. They also ordered some items, and believe me as for the crochet, I sold my beautiful flowers. As I was making them. Again my first time, I had no proper pins for them but quickly arranged some of my sewing ones (I keep in the emergency kit in my purse) to attach at the back.

That is soo good. I’ll let you with some of the pictures I took right before the event, promise to post some more!

Yet growing Crochet Garden

Hi there,

So we are here in Vancouver for a few days, and I tried to take my little daughter to the Aquarium like we did last year but unlike that time today the weather did not surprise us with a smiling sun, instead it poured water down on us. Tomorrow we go rain or shine. She is bored in front of the T.V.

Any way I am getting ready for the Summer festival, this will be my first time in a festival with my crafts. I don’t know how to feel about it Don’t know how much is too little, how much is too much because I have no idea how much people spend in these occasions. Let’s see first hand.

I’ve been busy  creating some handmade stuff, and light wear crochet, among which some flowers thought you might like to see a sample.
